To our neighbors, customers, and communities across the Southeastern United States,
Like so many of you, I have been closely following the devastating winter storms that have swept across the Southeast. The images and stories coming out of our communities are heartbreaking. Families displaced. Homes damaged. Businesses disrupted. Lives turned upside down in a matter of hours.
On behalf of the entire UNITS Moving and Portable Storage organization, our sincere thoughts and prayers are with every individual and family impacted by this historic and tragic weather event.
We know that some of the hardest hit areas (some still without power) include parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and northern Florida. In many of these communities, frozen pipes, flooding, and water damage have left homeowners facing unexpected loss and difficult decisions at an already stressful time.
During moments like these, community matters.
UNITS Moving and Portable Storage is proud to be a locally owned and operated network, and our franchise owners live and work in the same towns and neighborhoods that have been affected. They are not outsiders. They are your neighbors. They understand firsthand what these storms mean for families and small businesses. Our local teams stand ready to help by providing safe, secure, and weather resistant portable storage solutions for those who need to temporarily protect their belongings due to water damage, frozen pipes, or emergency repairs. Whether it is giving families space to recover or helping contractors and restoration teams work more efficiently, our goal is simple: to support our communities when they need it most.
In the days following a severe winter storm, the physical damage is only part of the challenge. The emotional toll can be just as heavy. I recognize that many families are navigating insurance claims, coordinating repairs, and making difficult decisions about what can be saved and what must be replaced. For parents, there is the added concern of restoring a sense of normalcy for children who may be confused or frightened by the disruption. For seniors and small business owners, the uncertainty can feel overwhelming. These moments test resilience, patience, and hope, and it is important for everyone affected to know that support exists within their own communities.
As recovery efforts begin, having a safe and reliable way to protect personal belongings often becomes a critical step. Temporary storage can allow restoration professionals to work efficiently while giving homeowners peace of mind that their possessions are secure and protected from further exposure. Our locally owned UNITS franchise teams understand these needs and are experienced in working alongside homeowners, contractors, and insurance professionals during times of crisis. They are committed to providing clear communication, timely service, and dependable solutions during what is often one of the most stressful periods a family can face.
Beyond logistics, this moment is also about compassion and community connection. Across the Southeast, neighbors are helping neighbors, first responders are working tirelessly, and local businesses are stepping up to provide resources and relief. UNITS franchise owners are proud to be part of that collective effort. Their commitment extends beyond business services and reflects a deeper responsibility to the communities that support them year after year. As rebuilding continues and lives gradually return to normal, our teams remain focused on doing what they do best: showing up with integrity, care, and a genuine desire to help people move forward after an unexpected hardship.
This is not new for UNITS franchise owners. Across the country, our teams have consistently stepped up during hurricanes, floods, fires, and other natural disasters. When challenges arise, our locally owned operators respond with compassion, urgency, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people they serve. If you or someone you know has been impacted by these winter storms and needs assistance, I encourage you to reach out to your local UNITS Moving and Portable Storage location. Our teams are ready to listen, to help, and to be part of the recovery process.
From my family to yours, please know that you are not alone. Our sincere thoughts and prayers remain with everyone affected as you begin the path toward recovery and rebuilding.
With care and commitment,
Michael McAlhany UNITS Chief Executive Officer
