Use the word “fragile” on boxes containing items that could break easily. This will help your relocation go more smoothly and reduce damage to your belongings. Write in large letters, so it’s easy to see. If you’re packing delicate ceramic or glass items, use the word “delicate” instead of “fragile.”
Make a list of the items you think you’ll need for your trip, then take a look at it and pare down where possible. It’s always better to have less stuff and more space than to try and cram everything into one box when traveling. Once you arrive at your destination, unpack slowly so that it doesn’t become overwhelming.
Place the box in its proper position when identifying it. If you’re packing a box of children’s books to give to the playroom, write it on the box.
By labeling your boxes, you will save time and frustration later on. You won’t have to waste precious minutes unpacking or searching for certain labeled boxes. If they’re already marked, you can easily move them without having to open each one. So take a few extra seconds to label each box. It’ll be worth it in the end!
