UNITS Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Now that recovery efforts are under way in the communities affected by Hurricane Harvey, UNITS Moving and Portable Storage of San Antonio has sent 12 portable storage containers to Victoria, TX. These containers will be used by volunteers and contractors to help clean up and rebuild. A number of restoration companies have also requested containers.

Thank you so much to our wonderful team members, Gilbert and Carlos for driving back and forth from San Antonio to Victoria until every container was delivered to where it could do the most good!

In addition to sending containers to Victoria, UNITS donated 3 portable storage containers to help with relief efforts were carried out by San Antonio, Texas based Concordia Lutheran Church. A big thank you to Concordia’s congregation for providing us with an opportunity to help our fellow Texans! The congregation held a supply drive and will use the containers to transport donations to affected areas.

While large areas like Houston receive a great deal of attention, Concordia Lutheran Church’s focus will be on helping smaller communities that may be overlooked by larger relief organizations.

“Concordia’s mission leaders are spending long hours of the day in touch with other churches in the disaster areas finding out what the needs are and then finding solutions to meet the needs.  They have found that many of the smaller, off the map type of towns, are not getting much relief, if any, so these types of towns are going to be their primary focus.” Tristina Volesky, Lockaway Storage VP of Operations and Concordia Lutheran Church member, said. “They are sending teams to do clean up, sending supplies, and bringing support to help bring back restoration and hope. One thing I love about my church is I know they will continue to bring help as long as it is needed.”

During times of need, we at UNITS are proud to support our friends across Texas. We will rebuild from Harvey together!
