When you are getting ready to move, there are a number of things that you need to take care of in order to make the process as smooth as possible. At UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage of Raleigh we are here to help with every aspect of your move. By following this checklist, you can ensure that your move goes off without a hitch.
Pack well in Advance
One of the most important things to do is to start packing well in advance. This will help to ensure that you have everything packed and ready to go when the moving truck arrives. Make sure to pack heavy items on the bottom of boxes and fragile items on top.
Purchase Necessities
It’s important to shop for essential items such as curtains and blinds or even appliances or furniture that you may need. Don’t wait until moving day to order larger items as they may be out of stock and you might not be able to get them in time.
Pets and Plants
It is important to make arrangements for your pets and plants. You will need to make sure that your pets have a safe place to stay during the move, and that your plants are either moved with you or taken care of by a friend or family member.
Notify Utilities
Finally, be sure to notify all of your utility providers of your move. This includes your cable, internet, and phone providers, as well as your electricity and water providers. By notifying them in advance, you can ensure that there is no interruption in your service when you move.
By following this checklist and by taking care of these items before moving, you can avoid any headaches or problems that may occur during the moving process.
