  5. Ogden was known as a major passenger railroad junction owing to its location along major east–west and north–south routes.
  6. Summers are hot and dry, with a few days per year reaching 100 °F (38 °C). Rain is provided in the form of infrequent thunderstorms during summer, between mid-July and mid-September which is monsoon season.
  7. Ogden is a satellite venue of the Sundance Film Festival. Other events of interest include a downtown farmer’s market, the Ogden Arts Festival, the Harvest Moon Festival, Ogden Winterfest and the Ogden Marathon.
  8. Utah is the only state where every county contains some part of a national forest.
  9. Utah’s Arches National Park is known for containing more than 2000 natural sandstone arches.
  10. The Bonneville Salt Flats comprises 30,000 acres of desolate, densely packed salt pan. The spot’s incredibly flat and smooth terrain makes it a popular destination for speed-seeking land racers.
