php // the_title(); ?>UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage of Northern NJ is being recognized not just for doing business—but for doing good. Bergen Volunteers honored Matt Coolidge, owner of UNITS® of Northern NJ, with the Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility award at their annual Keys for a Cause celebration on April 3, 2025. This recognition highlights Matt’s ongoing dedication to supporting nonprofits and fostering stronger communities across the region. From food drives to senior support, Matt has made corporate giving an integral part of UNITS®‘ identity.
One of the most impactful ways he’s contributed is through his work with Bergen Volunteers’ CHORE program, which provides free home repairs for seniors and individuals with disabilities. These aren’t major renovations—just simple fixes that make a huge difference: installing grab bars, replacing smoke detectors, and weatherproofing windows. The program fields up to 45 service requests a day, and quick access to tools and supplies is critical. Thanks to the UNITS® container donation, CHORE can now keep items organized and ready, helping them serve more people, more efficiently. “If donating a portable storage unit helps a senior stay safely in their home, that’s a win for everyone,” said Matt.
The containers may be simple structures, but in the hands of Bergen Volunteers and other local nonprofits, they become launchpads for real impact. We’re proud to have important organizations rely on us to make their jobs, and by extension, the lives of the people they help, easier.
“Matt’s generosity has given us the ability to store a large quantity of critical CHORE materials in a secure location and it helped the program thrive,” said Shara Nadler, CEO of Bergen Volunteers. “He understands how his support can help us serve more people, further strengthen our community and work more effectively to make a difference in so many lives.” Matt is incredibly honored to play a small part in their success.
UNITS® of Northern NJ is more than proud to serve the community. That’s what sets us apart in the portable storage industry – we’re not just a faceless corporation; we give back to those who make our success possible. We want to share that success with everyone that we help. At UNITS® , corporate social responsibility isn’t just an initiative; it’s a mindset. And we’re honored to be part of something bigger than business.
At UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage of Northern NJ, every partnership, every donation, and every service project stems from a simple belief: strong communities are built by businesses that care.
