All Steel Construction

UNITS® containers are built to withstand tough conditions. Our all-steel construction, tough steel frames, and steel doors make our containers the most weather-resistant on the market, and we don’t require a tarp to protect your items. In contrast, U-HAUL® containers are made of wood, adhesive, and staples, which makes them less sturdy and weather-resistant.

More Interior Space and Capacity

We offer more interior space and capacity than U-HAUL®. Our containers feature a unique door design that enables our 12′ container to hold 511 more cubic feet of space than U-HAUL®’s containers. Additionally, our 16′ containers can hold up to 400% more by weight than U-HAUL®’s containers of the same size. We provide more space for your items to ensure they are stored safely and securely.

ETRACK™ Securing System

At UNITS® of Northern Virginia, we use the ETRACK™ securing system to keep your items in place during transportation. Unlike U-HAUL®, we acknowledge that items may shift during moves due to differences in terrain. Our strap and restraint system, also known as ETRACK™, ensures that your belongings stay put and don’t suffer damage.

Finally, one container from UNITS® of Northern Virginia is all you need to transport multiple rooms, furniture, and large objects like patio furniture and dining tables. In comparison, you would need several U-Box containers from U-HAUL® to do the same job. Our 12′ containers are perfect for storing the contents of up to four rooms or an entire basement, while our 16′ containers are ideal for large family relocations, jobsites, and first responders.
