Originally known as Bryn Mawr, Harriton House is the former residence of Charles Thomson, the secretary of the Continental Congress. Built in 1704, the town of Bryn Mawr, meaning “high hill,” is named after the house. The house was renovated in 1911 and added to the National Register of Historic Place in 1973. Guided tours are available Tuesday through Saturday.
