Making your move more difficult than it has to be won’t do you any favors. Once your belongings are unpacked in your new home, it may look like a total mess, but it doesn’t have to stay that way.
UNITS Moving and Portable Storage of Central Iowa is here to assist! Here are three reasons why it’s so important to label your boxes.
To make your relocation more bearable and reduce the number of items that get damaged or broken, put “fragile” on anything that may easily break. The large block letters on the front of your box help to draw attention to it. If you’re packing delicate ceramic or glass items, write “delicate” instead of “fragile.”
As you’re packing, take a look at the list you’ve created and estimate how much stuff you think you’ll need. It’s always better to bring less and have more space than to try and cram everything into one box when traveling. Once you get to your destination, take your time unpacking so that it doesn’t overwhelm you.
Place the box in its proper position when identifying it. If you’re packing a box of children’s books to give to the playroom, write it on the box.
Taking a few minutes to label your boxes will save you considerable time and hassle in the long run. You won’t have to spend hours unpacking or searching for specifically labeled boxes. If they’re already marked, you can simply move them without having to open all of them. So label each box. It’s worth it!
