php // the_title(); ?>Are you planning a big move in the near future? Spring is the perfect time to make a deep clean happen before your move. Taking the time to deep clean your space before a move can make the process easier with less stress. We’ve rounded up a few helpful spring cleaning tips to complete before your move below!
Deep Clean
Before you vacate a space, you are expected to leave the property in its best possible condition. Why not get a jump start on the process before you move? Completing a deep clean of your property early will make cleaning up easier when it’s time to move. Start by cleaning your property from floor to ceiling. Here are a few helpful ways to complete a deep spring clean:
- Dust the ceiling fans and clean any cobwebs or stains from the ceiling and trim
- Use a soapy sponge or cloth to remove any marks on the walls
- Clear out your cupboards and cabinets, then wipe them down fully
- Vacuum out your drawers
- Clean out your refrigerator and wipe up any crumbs or food that may have spilled
- Scrub the floors in your bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom
Declutter
Don’t waste money on moving unwanted items from one property to the next! Take inventory and declutter your spaces before you move. Here is a list of helpful items you may want to get rid of before you move:
- Books, DVDs, video games or entertainment you no longer use
- Old or broken dishes, glasses, utensils or small kitchen appliances
- Clothes, shoes or accessories you no longer wear
- Torn or worn bedsheets, towels and curtains
- Toys or activities that your children have outgrown
- Broken tools, old yard equipment or any outdoor items you no longer use
- Large pieces of furniture that may not fit in your new space
Purge or Recycle
Once you decide on items you’d like to get rid of as you declutter, be sure to purge or recycle what you aren’t using. As we mentioned above, you don’t want to spend the time or money packing away items you are no longer using. Don’t forget to consider how your furniture will fit in your new space, too. Some items may be too small or too large and should be donated, instead of included in the move.
Clean the Small Spots
Make sure to give every small nook and cranny in your current space a good clean. Chances are that you haven’t really given your space a deep clean in several months and these smaller areas tend to have dirt or grime pile up over time.
Get Organized
When you move into a new space, it’s like a fresh start. Make sure you have your personal items organized, so you can put them away faster when you move.
