An unusual feature to take note of, if you are planning on moving to the Lindredge-Martin Manor neighborhood of Atlanta with UNITS Moving and Portable Storage, is that it has a system of International Baccalaureate programs for school age children ages 3 to 18. It’s one of only 18 programs in North America that have a curriculum for children of all ages!
Of course that’s not all there is to appreciate about this neighborhood. One of the many places to live that make up the “Intown Atlanta” neighborhoods means there is access to all that the city has to offer along with the features that exist in or around it. You can travel to all of the area attractions via the MARTA system. The Lindbergh station is the closest rail option.
Lindredge-Martin Manor residents live in single-family homes for the most part. The neighborhood association is a strong one that advocates community activities. One of its proudest accomplishments is Armand Park, a once vacant lot turned into a community planned gathering space with a playground, rain garden and pergola area.
A much-appreciated feature of this park is that it connects to the South Fork Trail, a 31-mile path that follows the meandering Peachtree Creek and its tributaries. Future plans for the South Fork Trail include connecting it to the Atlanta Beltline Project, an ambitious 22-mile project that is being developed along a former train corridor that circles Atlanta. Some of it has already been turned into a biking and hiking trail, along with other recreational and entertainment events, but the full project will create more affordable housing, transportation and business opportunities for the neighborhoods that border it.
Just across the street from the park is the Lindredge-Martin Manor Community Garden that all residents can use for a modest fee.
Armand Park is not the only park in the area, however. You can also visit nearby Peachtree Hills Park and its tennis courts, the Ansley Golf Club, Piedmont Park and the Morningside Nature Preserve.
